Jack Landau

Raised amid the ever-changing skyline of Toronto — North America’s construction capital — Jack Landau has spent his entire career documenting the architectural landmarks, places, and events that define Canada’s largest metropolis.

His journey as an artist was sparked by a desire to capture changing cityscapes, which ballooned into an obsession with architecture and travelling to the world’s greatest urban centres.

Jack’s photography has shifted from the documentary style of his early career in the 2010s to an approach he describes as ranging from cinema-inspired to neo-noir, blending vibrant and nostalgic tones that draw from both film and digital processing techniques.

Whether it’s a soaring city skyline or a neon-lit alley with a noodle shop on a rainy night, Jack has stayed loyal to Canon throughout his career, with a preference for full-frame sensors and revered L-series lenses.
