Jason (Jiyoung) Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, and resided in Chicago for 15 years. Since he moved to New York 14 years ago, New York has always been the source of inspiration and appreciation ranging from its age-old, raw film-set-like atmosphere to its diverse cultural abundance. As a public accountant and an enthusiastic photographer, there is no better city than New York in fulfilling both roles where corporate taxation and picturesque scenery co-exist.
Jason has been actively engaged in photography for 20 years where one of his achievements includes the top prize from a photography contest held by a major Korean newspaper. He has played an influential role as a brand ambassador of Google Pixel phone for the past 4 years.
For Jason, photography enables him to seize the moment that passes by like a whistle and to listen to minute sounds resonating from the hustle-and-bustle of everyday lives.
Jason's work is published in Trope New York, the fifth volume in the Trope City Editions series, that celebrates the architecture and urban landscapes of the “city that never sleeps,” one of the world’s cultural capitals.
