Kris Kuganathan

Kris Kuganathan is a Southern California based cityscape, landscape, and aerial photographer.

He originally started his photography journey almost exclusively capturing gritty frames within the cityscape arena, drawing from early influences within the graffiti and hip-hop scenes. Over time, he’s developed an appreciation for remote landscapes and his work has expanded to include natural serene scenes like powerful waterfalls, vast mountains, and deep canyons.

His style is defined by punchy colors, high contrast, and deep blacks which are prominent across all of his work. His ideal shoot is venturing out to a location an hour before dawn to capture a composition as the warm sun fills his cold surroundings as the world begins to awaken.

When he’s not traveling to a new city or remote landscape, Kris often returns to photograph fresh perspectives of the streets of Los Angeles, where his journey behind the lens began.
