Mark Bergeron's passion for photography started more than a decade ago as a result of his point-and-shoot failing while abroad. Returning home to Chicago with a newly-acquired DSLR in-hand, he began his journey down the proverbial rabbit-hole. Mark was beguiled with Chicago's amazing and varied architecture. He honed his technique over the years by taking evening photos of the city’s skyline reflected off Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.   

A life-long Midwesterner, the pandemic brought Mark and his wife back to Minneapolis to be with family. Mark still carries that same fervor for architecture photography and has had a blast in his endeavors to capture the beauty and uniqueness of the Twin Cities. 

If chased into a corner in order to divulge his favorite photographic muse, architecture at night would likely be a quick response. But Mark’s excitement of photography extends into many other subjects and techniques, such as taking photos of flowers with flawed vintage lenses, infrared exposures, not to mention nature and wildlife – Minnesota has a lot of ducks! Mark finds the creative and analytic balance in photography to be very satisfying. Along the way he has been fortunate and honored with having his photos featured in several regional contests and publications.
