Raised in Russia and currently residing in the Netherlands, Oleg Kuzmin is a software engineer whose childhood love for drawing eventually evolved into a profound passion for photography. What began as a simple way to document travel memories shifted when he realized the fleeting, often overlooked nature of smartphone snapshots. Turning to a dedicated camera brought a newfound intentionality to his art. The deliberate effort of framing a shot and the thoughtful process of editing resonated deeply with him, transforming a casual hobby into a focused pursuit of capturing the world's short-lived moments of beauty.
Oleg finds his greatest inspirations in natural light and the romantic architecture of his surroundings. Amsterdam's old European atmosphere allows him to travel back in time, whether through a foggy winter morning evoking the 17th century or the vibrant, overwhelming blooms of spring sakuras and magnolias. He describes his visual style as "neopictorialism" - a nod to the early 20th-century pictorialist movement - using a surrealistic atmosphere and soft details to evoke a sense of sorcery and fairytale. Shooting primarily with a full-frame Sony setup, he captures the depth and character of the city streets and landscapes that inspire him, continually exploring new ways to translate the world's charm into lasting visual stories.
