Raúl Rodríguez

Raúl’s journey with photography didn't begin with sophisticated equipment or professional training. It began with something simple: his phone and the curiosity to capture Washington, D.C.'s creamy sunsets at the reflecting pool. Back then, he didn't even know what he was looking for. He would take random photos of sunsets, city lights, reflections on rainy days, or simply moments that made him feel alive. But little by little, something changed, and he realized that every time he took a photo, he was actually discovering a part of himself.

Raúl lives in Washington, D.C., a city full of contrasts, power and peace, chaos and calm. It was here that he discovered that photography was more than a hobby, it was therapy. Walking with his phone through the streets, watching the light illuminate the buildings, capturing the stillness between moments - that's where he found peace.

Over time, Raúl decided to take photography seriously. He saved up, bought his first real camera, a Sony A6000, and began learning everything he could: settings, angles, composition, timing. He watched YouTube videos and read photography books.

Raúl tries to capture emotion, light, and honesty. The sunset glow on the Lincoln Memorial is his all-time favorite. The way the city looks after the rain each image reminds him that beauty isn't something exceptional, it's simply hidden in plain sight. He continues to learn, explore, and grow. To him, his camera isn't just a tool, it's a companion and a way to express what words can't. Through his lens, he has learned to appreciate the silence, the movement, and the poetry that exists in daily moments.

For Raúl, photography isn't a job or a hobby, it's a form of peace, an emotional language, and a reminder that life, in all its imperfection, deserves to be captured.
