Paul Natkin & The Moment of Truth Collection
The Trope production team worked with Paul Natkin through 2020 and the beginning of 2021 during the Covid-19 shutdown to rescan his collection of original negatives and slide film, meticulously color correcting and retouching each frame to restore and retain its original film quality to every detail. The result is a unique collection of over 150 of Paul’s best images, available on trope.com as a limited Trope Edition series; accompanied by a 288-page monograph titled Natkin: The Moment of Truth, available now. All images from the book will be made available for purchase.
Prints are available in three standard sizes: 14x18, 18x24 and 24x30 paper. Image size is approximately 1-2" smaller on all four sides, depending on the original film format, to allow room for matting if desired. All prints are produced on museum-quality, 330gsm acid-free uncoated cotton fiber paper. Larger custom sizes and paper can be ordered on request. Please contact info@trope.com for information and pricing on special orders.

Paul photographed in an era when photographers had unfettered access to shows and artists, often traveling with the band to bars, theaters, arenas and even their homes. He toured with The Rolling Stones on their 1989 Steel Wheels Tour and Keith Richards’ solo tour, and is well-known for his stage work with some of the most prominent blues and jazz players in the country. In 2000, Paul even traveled with the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson as road manager. Over his career as a photographer, Paul estimates he has attended over 10,000 shows and photographed over 4,500 artists (some more than 50 times), perfecting his instincts to capture
the “decisive moment.”
“Natkin’s new book of music photography is more than a gorgeous coffee-table book with almost 300 pages of photos of icons like the Rolling Stones, Prince, Miles Davis and Bruce Springsteen. It’s a pictorial history of popular music over the last four decades.”
